Welcome

President Laughing" Welcome to the website for the Rotary Club of Innerleithen, Walkerburn, and Traquair, 3 communities in the beautiful Tweed Valley in the Scottish Borders.

The Rotary Club of Innerleithen, Walkerburn, and Traquair, known around District 1020 as I.W.T. due to having the longest name in the book, was chartered in 1985. We are lively club of 14 members comprised of individuals from a wide variety of backgrounds. Visiting Rotarians are assured of a very warm welcome. We are always actively looking to recruit new members.

If you are interested in Rotary we would be delighted to welcome you to one or more of our meetings so you can get to know us a little better before considering membership. Our club meets every Tuesday evening at ‘The Union Club’, High Street, Innerleithen, at 7:15pm for 7.30pm where we have an enjoyable meal specially prepared for us by Rebecca. If you would like to join us on a Tuesday night, please refer to the contacts page where you will get our club contact details. Feel free to pop in and see us, you will be made more than welcome.

We often have a speaker at our meeting addressing a wide variety of different topics but generally on the last Tuesday of the month we will have a business meeting at which we review the finances and current activities of the club and plan future events. We are a very friendly and social club, and fun and fellowship are an intregral part of our club's character - we are members of Rotary because we enjoy being members of Rotary. Of equal importance is the concept of service - "Service above Self" - is a Rotary motto which embodies the other reason why our members have joined Rotary.

Thanks to the support of the local community, our club is able each year to help, both with time and money, a wide variety of local, national, and international charities and community organisations. If you wish to know more about the activities of the club, please visit the other pages on the drop down menus.
