Welcome to the Rotary Club of Innerleithen, Traquair and Walkerburn.

We are an informal Rotary Club meeting in the Union Club in Innerleithen on a Tuesday evening at 7.30pm for a meal.  On the first and third Tuesday evenings of each month we aim to have speaker on an interesting topic – frequently relating to voluntary and charitable work.  On the second Tuesday evening we split into our committees to discuss how to put the Rotary strap line of Service above self into action. Over the years we have done this in a wide variety of ways such as running the Innerleithen Town firework display on 5th November, helping at the old folk’s Christmas party, assisting with car parking for some local events including the town’s pipeband competition.

We have provided catering at local mountain biking events. We have also supported overseas charities including  Mary Meals, the hospital at Mulanje in Malawi and taking part in the zone project to provide a container full of wheelchairs to Romania. We have been heavily involved in the current zone project of raising £30,000 for additional dialysis facilities at Borders General Hospital  - we ran a highly successful charity golf tournament. As you can imagine this takes some organising. Fourth Tuesdays are business meetings and when there is a fifth Tuesday we just have a relaxed chat after our meal.

Please feel free to come along to any of our meetings.  Visiting Rotarians are always welcome as is anyone who just wonders what Rotary is all about.
