Rotary Club of Innerleithen, Walkerburn and Traquair

It is my great pleasure to be the President of the Rotary Club of Innerleithen, Walkerburn and Traquair for 2009/10, and I welcome you to our website. Innerleithen, Walkerburn, and Traquair, are three small communities from the beautiful Tweed Valley in the Scottish Borders.

The Rotary Club of Innerleithen, Walkerburn, and Traquair, known around District 1020 as I.W.T. due to having the longest name in the book, was chartered in 1985. We are a small but lively Club with members from a wide variety of backgrounds. Visiting Rotarians are always assured of a very warm welcome.

If you are interested in Rotary we would be delighted to welcome you to one or more of our meetings so you can get to know us a little better before considering if you would like to join us. Our club meets every Tuesday evening at ‘The Union Club’, High Street, Innerleithen, at 7:15pm for 7.30pm. Our meetings usually feature a speaker, addressing a wide variety of topics of local, national and international relevance. On the last Tuesday of the month we  have a business meeting to review the current activities of the club and plan future events. We are a very friendly and social group, and fun and fellowship are an integral part of our Club's character - we are members of Rotary because we enjoy being members of Rotary. Of equal importance is the concept of service - "Service above Self" - is the Rotary motto, and the reason for our membership of Rotary International. 

Every year, thanks to our programme of activities and the support of the local community, the Rotary Club of I.W.T helps with time and money a wide variety of local, national, and international charities and community organisations. If you wish to know more about the activities of the Club, please visit the other pages on the drop down menus.
