On Tuesday 26th Jan we all got together with our friends from the Probus club to celebrate the 251st anniversary of the birth of our national bard.  Under the guidance of our chairman President Robin we all settled back for an excellent evening of good food, excellent 'water of life and some wonderful entertainment.  Our thanks go to the staff of the Union club who did us proud with an excellent meal and to all out guests.  From the Immortal Memory to Oor Wullie's prayer you could feel the sense of belonging and the intense atmosphere as we celebrated the delights of Roberts Burns.

In addition to the burns supper we also held a raffle to raise funds for the Haiti appeal.  thanks to the generosity of the guest we managed to raise £250.  This combined with a supermarket collection that we did at the weekend meant that we are able to send another Shelter box to the disaster. Many thanks to all who attended and we are already looking forward to the 252nd  birthday party

As Innerleithen mountain bike trail is a world renowned facility that attracts bikers from far flung corners of the globe we have often thought about we can raise funds on our own backdoor.

Then President Robin came up with the bright idea of providing catering at the site.

With kind permission of the Forestry Commission we 'pitched up' on a Sunday in late November and got ready to feed the very hungry mountain bikers.  The pictures don't show it but the weather was against us as the heavens opened for most of the day.

Never the less we managed to raise an amazing £370This is wonderful for the first time that we have done this.
